Debbie Hopkins

I come with over a decade of experience delivering L&D as well as leading a global learning & development team and have particular personal proficiency in coaching, mentoring and developing others through training or learning support. I have qualifications in both coaching and mentoring and having worked with a range of individuals from new starter to executive level over the last 10 years, I am extremely adept at communicating effectively and supporting others with their personal coaching goals. My coaching experience led me to be nominated as a specialist lean coach in my last position where I played a key role in supporting operationally-led Lean White and Yellow Belt training programmes by coaching attendees and supporting with training delivery; helping them to achieve their qualifications. As a mentor, I have extensive experience from mentoring colleagues or my direct reports, to mentoring as part of charity partnerships in my last company. These included mentoring youths in Africa with Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) helping HR professionals onto the UK employment ladder with Tent Partnership for Refugees and externally, I was a mentor through The Girl's Network in my local area. Here I supported a young girl in building her confidence and deciding on the steps needed to start a career. She went on to become Head Girl of her school and led on a number of school based initiatives including meeting new students and their parents at open days and was later interviewed as part of a BBC documentary. As part of Randstad's VSO partnership, last year I took responsibility for leading on the delivery of Randstad's global VSO mentoring programme which aided prospective mentors with the skills and knowledge to mentor youths across African nations. I am also qualified in the interpretation and facilitation of several 360 degree feedback offerings (including leadership styles and climate) and have also conducted these with senior and executive leaders on a global level as art of their senior development training programmes. Coaching topics have ranged from career coaching; helping someone decide on their next step or career move, managing conflict or challenges with their manager and coaching to helping leaders achieve their leadership goals; for example supporting leaders in managing hybrid or remote teams or managing conflict or performance issues.
