On top of her regular work, she has also been supporting the HR and GM communities via sharing best practices, group coaching, writing column articles and books. To help develop young talents in wider communities, Marlene has been mentoring MBA students of Shanghai University in the past few years. Professional experience Marlene started her career as OD head in AT& T, later joined Andrew tele com as HR head of APAC, HR head for GE Silicones for Greater China and Souteast Asia, HR head for Boerhinger Ingeheim, HR head , Chairwoman, GM for Givaudan. She has been actively driving business growth in her GM role and supporting business growth in her HR roles. She has received numerous rewards for in the HR community and her own companies including HR manager of the year by China staff; General Manager of the year, etc. She started learning and practicing coaching from 2004 when she was credited as NLP coach, hypnotherapist, and NLP master practioner; she then learned and practiced executive coaching i, team coaching, private board advisory coaching, impromptu, etc which helped her drive a coaching culture very successfully in all her roles. In her private time, she has been coaching her friends on family relationship, career counceling, and phychological health. She has been sharing and advocating “whole person wellbeing” in the market place via sharing at most HR conferences. Industry experience Marlene’s experience as senior experiences covers industries of telecom, pharmaceutical, FMCG, and fine chemical. She has proved a fast learner with high level of resilience during the role transitions among different industries. Coaching style Being a personal and team coach with extensive NLP coaching and executive coaching experience, Marlene has been very much liked by her coachees as a coach who is good at pacing and leading the coachees quickly out of the woods; After aligning development objectives with the coachees and their LMs, Marlene always co-creates with her coaches to come up with a visual coaching journey to follow along. Besides the long term coaching, a lot of coaching sessions have also been done via lunch sessions inside her own company and other companies. Marlene coaches them very naturally and many occasions using metaphors and impromptu.
